About Andrea

Soprano Andrea Broido is an accomplished artist recognized for her work in opera, oratorio, and recital. She has been heralded by critics as bringing “true stellar quality to our region’s trove of vocal treasures,” “possessing a lyrical soprano, luminous and strong throughout a wide range," a “voluptuous operatic heroine” with a “brilliant top range and a full, expressive lower range”…“proffering a creamy tone.”

Her operatic roles include Violetta, Mimi, Pamina, Rosalinda, Nedda, Micaela, Donna Elvira, the Countess and the Governess, in performances with Virginia Opera, Opera Delaware, Opera Ensemble of NY, Berks Grand Opera (Reading, PA), and Center Stage Opera and Capital Opera (both in Harrisburg, PA).

Andrea has appeared as featured soloist with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the Roanoke Symphony, the Terre Haute Symphony (IN), the Concerto Soloists of Philadelphia, the Reading Symphony, Vox Amadeus at the Kimmel Center, as well as numerous appearances with the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra and PA Pro Musica. She was a finalist of both the American Opera Auditions in New York and the second Pavarotti Competition.

Andrea continues to offer recital programs: both operatic and sacred. Her present performance schedule includes performances in church settings to promote her CD, CLASSICAL PRAISE, a collection of her favorite sacred arias recorded in 2006 with the Kiev Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Ukraine.

Having trained at Hollins University, the Conservatoire de Neuilly (Paris, France), and New York, she holds a B.A. in Music from Hollins University (Roanoke, VA), and maintains a private voice studio in the Philadelphia area.
